Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is an under construction greenfield international airport being built at Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra, India. It will be the second international airport for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, functioning alongside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSIA) as India's first urban multi-airport system.
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) was constituted on 17 December 1991 for catering to the requirements of 29 villages in CIDCO Navi Mumbai. NMMC administers an area of 162 square km. It operates public bus transport services in its area.

As of 2015, Line 1 of the Metro is under construction and is slated to be operational by 2019 linking Belapur to Pendhar extending further to the upcoming International Airport.
With a maximum carrying capacity of 50 people, the hovercraft would cover the distance between CST and Belapur in 18 minutes as against 90 minutes currently taken by road at present. According to CIDCO, frequency of the crafts would depend upon the demand for the service.The hovercraft services will be the fastest way of reaching Navi Mumbai from the southern part of the city.
The under construction Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), also known as the Sewri-Nhava Seva Trans Harbour Link will be a 21.8 km, 6-lane highway. Once completed, it will be the longest sea bridge in India connecting Sewri in Mumbai to Chirle Village in Nhava Seva, passing over the Thane creek, north of the Elephanta Caves.

More than 300 acres corporate park in Kharghar to become next BKC, Build as the biggest commercial hub in the megapolis and revenue grosser for Cidco by way of land sale, the urban sprawl of more than 300 acres in Kharghar is described informally in the official lexicon as the BKC II—bigger than the Bandra Kurla complex. The BKC II hub is in close proximity to the upcoming second international airport. The park, to be set up in Kharghar, will be different from Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). It is a mini-township where corporates can walk to work. The park, expected to have a floating population of 1 lakh, will be self-sustainable with educational centres, hospitals and entertainment hubs.

Virar-Alibuag Multi Modal Corridor will connect NH-8, Bhiwandi bypass, NH-3, NH-4 and NH-4B, Mumbai-Pune Expressway, NH-17, etc. Out of this 126 km corridor, 79 km long Virar (Navghar) to Chirner (JNPT) work is in progress.
The 6-lane coastal road will connect JNPT with Panvel while at the same time provide seamless accessibility to the upcoming International Airport. It will make an interchange with the proposed Trans Harbour Link at Shivajinagar and then run along the coast of Ulwe, putting the off-shore banking centre of SEZ within immediate reach of commuters.
With the commissioning of the Seawoods-Uran railway line, residents of Navi Mumbai will now enjoy seamless connectivity to the upcoming International airport and JNPT Nhava Sheva, besides Thane and CST Mumbai.
